Although I totally worship authors such as Brandon Sanderson who span multitudes of books across a single visionary universe, I think that I would have a lot of trouble sticking to that format myself. I recently read Warbreaker and although I loved Elantris and the Mistborn series, I found myself wanting to delve deeper into the unique world of biochromatic magic. I found myself mentally begging for a prequel and a sequel.Hopefully I will get my wish! It’s an added kind of thrill knowing that all of these fantastic series ith such unique worlds are connected in the Sanderson multiverse.
When I write, I tend to go back and forth between urban fantasy and actual fantasy realms. It’s fun to think that the world in which we live contains magical and paranormal creatures, but it’s also so much fun to worldbuild! Right now I’m writing a book that takes place in a world that is sort of a spin-off of ours; a possibility. I’m enjoying living in that place right now.
So whatever book you’re reading or writing, or whatever world you’re currently living in, enjoy it and maybe we’ll cross paths somewhere in the plethora of universes floating around in our minds.
I’m starting this blog because I love to read and I love to write. I often think about a plot or character in a book throughout the whole day, as I go about my activities, unable to fully participate in the real world because I’m so captivated by the fictional world. It’s fun for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’ve been writing for a long time, and mostly had articles and short stories published in trade magazines. The genres I prefer to write are science fiction, paranormal, fantasy (all types), and horror. My first published novel, “The Human Cure,” was published by 48fourteen and released in paperback last November. It’s a paranormal romance/urban fantasy novel.
I believe that there are always improvements to be made in my writing. I recently submitted a sequel to my publisher and I’m hoping it gets picked up. I’m also working on a new fantasy series. Writing is my joy and my passion.
The book I read most recently is “Warbreakeer” by Brandon Senderson. I think he is amazing and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on more of his work.
